Soundscape Program
A 10 – week course introducing participants to soundscape creation!
BGC Kawarthas has partnered with the Canadian Music Centre and Green Learning to offer this amazing brand new program!Discover the world of soundscape composition and experimental music production. Listen to the environment, the community and the history of Canadian composers. Play with everyday sounds and craft them into a work of art.
STARTING: Wednesday October 4th, 2023
WHERE: The Warehouse Youth Centre at BGC Kawarthas
WHO: This Program is for students in the Kawartha Lakes ages 12-18 (Grades 7-12)
COST: $150.00 (Financial Assistance available)
Group Ukulele Lessons
A 10-week group lesson program for beginner ukulele players!
Participants will spend one hour each week in a group ukulele lesson (maximum 6 students) learning the basics of ukulele! This program will teach the basics of strumming and chords, enabling participants to learn and play their favourite songs. Ukuleles can be rented from BGC Kawarthas.
STARTING: Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.
WHERE: BGC Kawarthas.
WHEN: Tuesdays from 4- 5 pm.
WHO: Ages 7 – 12.
COST: $100.00 (Financial Assistance available)
Virtual Production
A 10-week program centred around production and beat making.
Participants will spend one hour each week on a one-on-one Zoom call getting instruction tailored to their experience level and specific interests. Due to the nature of this program’s funding, this program will take place virtually, via Zoom. Participants will learn the ins-and-outs of recording software, how to make beats, score video, and how to share these songs effectively online.
STARTING: Enroll anytime!
WHERE: Virtual, via Zoom meetings.
WHEN: You choose a weekly one-hour slot with our Music Supervisor, Warren Frank.
WHO: This program is intended for students in the Kawartha Lakes ages 14 – 24.
COST: $75.00 (Financial Assistance available)
