Musicians pool talents to create our First Friday Jam for youth

A special music program led by Warren Frank and Graeme Morrison and geared to 12 to 18-year-olds, is going to kick off at our youth centre at the start of April. We’re excited for it to start!

As youths, Warren Frank and Graeme Morrison took advantage of opportunities to scratch their individual musical itch — Frank via a rock band, Morrison through instrumental collaborations.

“A little while ago, Graeme and I were talking about all these things that were available for us growing up. We had all these opportunities to learn and play; school music programs, The Odyssey Project to name a few. And most of the places that used to host live music are gone now,” said Frank, co-ordinator of music and digital arts at BGC Kawarthas and founding member of The Kents, which rebranded as Heaps in 2020.

The Youth Warehouse is excited to launch its First Friday Jam program designed to provide 12 to 18-year-olds who are musically-inclined an opportunity to expand their skills and a venue to share talents. The inaugural event takes place April 4 at our club in Lindsay.
